ASK undertakes borewell drilling projects in villages and communities that lack access to safe drinking water, in partnership with the organization “Wells for Life.” Through this collaboration, ASK has successfully installed more than 100 borewells across the Dangs district of Gujarat, as well as in rural areas along the Maharashtra border and parts of Valsad district. These initiatives include both hand pump systems and submersible pump installations, depending on the needs and conditions of each location.

Access to clean and reliable drinking water is essential for health, dignity, and sustainable development. In many of these communities, the absence of safe water sources forces families—especially women and children—to travel long distances daily, often relying on contaminated water. This can lead to serious health issues such as waterborne diseases, malnutrition, and reduced productivity, while also affecting school attendance and overall quality of life.

By ensuring local access to clean water, ASK helps reduce the burden on families, improve public health, and create opportunities for education and livelihood activities. Communities experience visible changes, including better hygiene practices, fewer illnesses, improved school participation among children, and increased time for income-generating work. These water projects not only address an immediate need but also contribute to long-term social and economic development in underserved regions.
